Pray for

Four Israelis were killed Tuesday night when gunmen opened fire on their car in the West Bank. The victims were two men and two women, one of whom was pregnant. This devastating attack was aimed at torpedoing the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks set to begin on Thursday in Washington. Please join The Fellowship in prayer for the loved ones of the victims of this attack, and that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

  • Pray that all plans for terror attacks in Israel are foiled and that terrorists will be brought to justice. "He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me… He delivered me because he delighted in me" (Psalm 18:17 , 19).
  • Pray for the safety of the Israeli military who risk their lives every day to protect Israel and her citizens. "For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones" (Proverbs 2:8 ).
  • Pray for the success of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks beginning in Washington. Pray that God gives Prime Minister Netanyahu, Palestinian Authority President Abbas, and President Obama wisdom and discernment during these critical times as they seek a way to bring a true and lasting peace in the region. "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his" (Job 12:13 ).
  • Pray for the millions of Jews throughout the world who will soon gather in prayer for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Pray that their prayers be received and answered by God for their good. "I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer" (Psalm 17:6 ).
  • Pray for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who turned 24 years old last week while being held captive by Hamas terrorists who have denied him all basic humanitarian rights. This birthday marks his 5th in captivity — pray that he will be brought home swiftly, safely, and in good health. "He has turned to the prayer of those who cried out, and he did not despise their prayer… For he has looked down from his holy height; the Lord looked from heaven to earth, to hear the cry of the prisoner, and release those condemned to death" (Psalm 102:17,19-20 ).
